As well as releasing a third album with the Libertines, Pete Doherty had confirmed that he definitely plans to record another solo album.
Speaking to NME about his plans for the future, Doherty explained "I think that's going to happen quite naturally."
He continued: "I'll do a solo record, definitely. I've got plenty of songs. I'm going to try not to put them online and put them together as an album."
Following his recent triumphant homecoming show at London's Brixton Jamm at the end of February, Doherty also recently revealed the video for his new solo single Flags Of The Old Regime.
The song was written by Doherty as a tribute to Amy Winehouse, who was a close friend and passed away back in 2011. The single will be released in aid of the Amy Winehouse Foundation, who work to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse on young people. The Katia de Vidas directed video is shot in black and white, featuring Doherty while the lyrics are written on a typewriter. It's tastefully done, and lovingly sung - and seems a fitting tribute to the late singer.

In his NME interview Doherty reveals that he has regrets regarding his work with Winehouse. "Whenever we used to get together to do music, she was always very, very critical of all the new ideas that I had," he commented. "So we never ended up getting anything finished. I'm haunted by that."
The Libertines recently signed a new record deal with Virgin EMI, leaving behind Rough Trade Records ahead of the release of their hugely anticipated third album. In a statement Doherty said "I don’t know what to say, I’m so happy. It was a beautiful day."
The Libertines have a huge number of festival appearances scheduled this summer including a headline shot at Reading and Leeds Festival, Lollapalooza Berlin, Best Kept Secret, Rock En Seine, T In The Park and even an appearance at Ibiza Rocks.
