Aussie pop export Natalie Imbruglia - best known for her 1997 hit 'Torn' - has recorded a cover of Dark Punk track 'Instant Crush'. Listen to the track below.
The track will be part of Imbruglia's new album Male, which will be a compilation of songs originally written and performed by male artists. The original track featured on the electronic duo's massive-selling 2013 album Random Access Memories, and featured guest vocals from The Strokes frontman Julian Casablancas.
"On the original version, you can’t really hear what the song is about because of the effect that Julian’s voice has, which I love, by the way," Imbruglia said of the track. "However, it is such a beautiful story that I want people to hear it and connect with the words. I’m really proud of the way it turned out."
'Male' will also see Imbruglia take-on The Cure's 'Friday I'm In Love', Death Cab For Cutie's 'I'll Follow You Into The Dark' and Neil Young's 'Only Love Can Break Your Heart'.
