The Cure's Robert Smith has collaborated with former Orbital producer Paul Hartnoll for the latter's Eight Fifty Eight project. Listen to 'Please' below.

First premiered on Line Of Best Fit, the album not only features Smith but also includes collaborations with Ed Harcourt and Cillian Murphy (star of 28 Days Later and Batman Begins).

Smith's track is some classic bouncy electro with a stabby synth breakdown perfectly setting up Smith's trademark delivery: it's akin to LCD Soundsystem's 'Daft Punk Is Playing At My House' only with the robots wearing guyliner and a fright wig.

Eight Fifty Eight recently released the high concept video behind anti-conformist anthem The Clock featuring Cillian Murphy. As Hartnoll explained: “I’ve always been interested in time, I’ve always had a thing for clocks, and for time as a powerful force — but also the way time oppresses you." Watch it below.

The album is out now on ACP Recordings. The Cure currently have no tour dates planned with their last shows taking place at Hammersmith Apollo in December.
