US alt-rock band Funeral Party have announced that they are splitting up after over 10 years to 'pursue their own musical endeavours'.

The 'New York City Moves to the Sound of L.A.' stars formed in 2005, releasing their debut and only album, The Golden Age Of Nowhere, in 2011.

Now, taking to Facebook, the band have announced their demise:

"We would like to thank you all for supporting us through the years and for making Funeral Party what it was. On that note we would like to officially announce that we are breaking up and pursuing our own musical endeavors. We are still good friends with each other and will continue to support each other on our paths. We thank you all for everything you have done for us! Long live Funeral Party!"

After going through numerous changes throughout the years, the final line-up of Funeral Party consisted of Chad Elliott, James Lawrence Torres, Kimo Kauhola and Timothy Madrid - with news that three of the members of Funeral Party have formed new band DYED. Check them out below.
