Danny Dyer has an unlikely, but poignant, role in the new video for Lucy Rose's 'Nebraska'. Watch it below.
The song is taken from Rose's 2015 second album, Work It Out, and the nature of its accompanying video reflects the song's lyrical themes - albeit in a slightly left-field manner.
The video sees Dyer, clearly struggling with some internal conflict, leave his car and walk into a drag bar. After brief cameos from the likes of Rae Morris and Ghostpoet, we see Dyer entering the dressing room, putting on a dress, wig and make-up and stepping nervously onto the stage.
"I was honoured to be asked by the maestro that is Lucy Rose to be part of her video," said Dyer. "When I got the treatment through I was overwhelmed. I think it's such a moving piece of work. I'm beyond proud to be part of it. I've always believed that people should be who they wanna be, regardless of race or gender. Freedom of expression is so important."
“I'm hoping it'll make someone feel something when they watch it," says Rose of the video. "I hope it comforts someone and I hope it shows that no-one is who you expect them to be. Danny has taken a huge risk making this video and I'm eternally grateful to him for believing in me and this song."
Lucy Rose plays Wales' Festival No.6 this summer. Get tickets and more information here.
