After the death of John Lennon's first wife Cynthia Lennon, fellow former Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr have spoken out in tribute - as well as Yoko Ono and Cynthia's son Julian.
She died of cancer at the age of 75 yesterday (1 April), at her home in Mallorca in Spain with her son and singer-songwriter Julian at her bedside. Now, many have spoken out in tribute.
"The news of Cynthia’s passing is very sad," said Paul McCartney in a statement. "She was a lovely lady who I’ve known since our early days together in Liverpool. She was a good mother to Julian and will be missed by us all, but I will always have great memories of our times together."
Ringo Starr then tweeted:
