The richest stars in music have been revealed, with Sir Paul McCartney topping the list ahead of the likes of U2, Sir Elton John and many, many more. Check out the full list below.

The news comes from the latest Sunday Times Rich List, which shows the former Beatle turned solo icon coming out of top with an estimated fortune of £730million, a rise of £20million on last year. That also takes in his joint wealth with wife Nancy Shevell. Fellow Beatle and recent Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductee Ringo Starr comes in at No.8 with £180million.

The top five follows with Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber at No.2 with £650million, U2 at third with a combined wealth of £431million, Sir Elton John fourth with £270million, and Sir Mick Jagger at five with £225million.

The highest new entry is Calvin Harris at No.30 with a fortune of £70million - ranking him as equally as rich as Pete Townshend and Mark Knopfler.

Sam Smith already has an estimated wealth of £12million, while Adele is now worth £50million after making a cool £5million in the last year - despite not releasing any new music in four years.

Coldplay drummer Will Champion is also equally as rich as frontman Chris Martin, with £52million. Oh, and Lord Of The Dance Michael Flatley is also in the list too for more reason, despite not strictly being a musician.
