The Rolling Stones: the many artists the 'Doom & Gloom' band inspired

PRIMAL SCREAM: Even Bobby Gillespie would struggle to claim that Primal Scream don't take the odd influence (and chorus) from Mick Jagger and keep a straight face. The band have made a great career from their Stones influences though as the millions who bought Screamadelica will testify.

THE HIVES: Charismatic, energetic frontman 'Howlin' Pelle Almqvist is the closest thing the 21st century has had to a new Mick Jagger and the Swedish band still pack a mean punch in the live arena.

AC/DC: Angus Young of the Aussie icons has revealed that, as a nine year old, The Rolling Stones were the first band he fell in love with and that early incarnations of his band filled their gig sets with Stones covers.

LIL WAYNE: He may not be the first person you think of who has ripped off the Rolling Stones but Lil' Wayne was actually cought doing so when he sampled 'Play With Fire' on his 'Carter III' album without permission.

AEROSMITH: Much like AC/DC, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler has revealed that Mick Jagger was an early influence on him and his strutting ways as frontman of the 80's rockers.

JET: Mid-00's rockers Jet were perhaps the most blatant in their copying of the Rolling Stones (although their biggest hit 'Are You Gonna Be My Girl' took more from Iggy Pop to be fair).

TRIBES: Camden boys Tribes admit their whole ethos as a band comes from the Rolling Stones, saying: "It�s meant to be uncool to be a mainstream band but our favourite band The Rolling Stones were a mainstream band."

KE$HA: This US starlet showed us her rock credentials with a cover of 'Dead Flowers' in 2010. It wasn't very good to be honest.

SUSAN BOYLE: Britain's Got Talent star SuBo may lack the snake hips of Mick Jagger but she brought a new level of gravitas to 'Wild Horses' with her 2011 cover version.

THE BLACK KEYS: Rolling Stones greatest achievement was to combine rock n' Roll with the blues and nobody is doing that better in 2012 than The Black Keys.

Earlier today saw The Rolling Stones reveal their brand new single 'Doom and Gloom' to the world and it struck us just how many modern bands the song reminded us of.

Perhaps we should not have been surprised though, as pretty much every band in the world can claim to be influenced by the Rolling Stones in some way or another (except, maybe, Slipknot perhaps).

With that in mind, we have taken a look through the modern day bands who love Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie the most in this gallery. From the bands shamelessly ripping them off right through to the most unusual covers of old Stones' hits, they're all in here.
