Cristobal And The Sea have released the dreamlike video for their new glorious track, ‘Fish Eye’. Check it out on Gigwise first below.

The London-based band’s diverse sound is almost certainly due to their different nationalities and cultures merging together in one seamless, sonic package. Heralding from Spain, France, Portugal and the UK, Alejandro ‘Ale’ Romero João Seixas, Leïla Seguin and Joshua Oldershaw join forces to harness an altogether fluid, rhythmic and wonderfully melodic energy as intriguing and evocative as their band name.

Inspired by Afro-pop and Western folk and rock, their sound is incredibly varied, as much Animal Collective as it is Arthur Lee’s Love.

The surreal and dreamy video for 'FIsh Eye' depicts the band as makeshift mountains and follows a number of happy individuals through a beautifully shot forest, combining perfectly with the richly layered, immersive and melodic track.

Director Elliott Arndt, spoke about the video. "Something I like about the “narrative” is how everything just resolves itself and everyone is really happy. People help each other and revive each other and the family just grows."

The band release their debut LP Sugar Now through City Slang on 2 October and will play a headline show that night in London to celebrate.

Seeking a location for inspiration, (as well as sun) the band and producer Rusty Santos (Animal Collective, Owen Pallett) escaped to Lisbon to record the LP, allowing 'Sugar Now' to come from a new place. “We’d previously used a lot of effects on our instruments, but when Rusty saw us rehearse, he said not to use any” João says. “It meant we had to play in a different way, which made things a bit funkier, and we liked it enough not to put the effects back! So the album is more stripped down and open-ended.”
