Reading and Leeds festival 2014 is just around the corner, kicking off on Friday with a line-up that includes the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Blink 182, Paramore and Arctic Monkeys to name just a few. It also happens to be the festival's 25th year, so we thought it'd be fun to look back at the line-ups of yore.
The announcement of the Reading and Leeds line ups every year tends to be a bit of a nail biting experience. Playing to an extremely broad range of audiences it has been home to some of the most innovative bookings in festival history.
As a result it's always fun to look back at the faded Reading posters of old with their now ancient line ups. Some are positively mouth watering, featuring Nirvana, Oasis, Blur and more in their golden years. Others hilariously reflect the trends of the era, including a rather prolonged era of nu-metal heavy bookings.
