All Time Low are at the absolute peak of their powers - a No.1 album to their name, a crowning main stage performance at Reaing and Leeds, and they've now announced a massive UK arena tour.

We caught up with the band just before their incredible Reading performance, and it's fair to say that the occasion is not lost on them - it's been one hell of a year.

"We knew it was going to be a number one," jokes guitarist Jack Barakat, about the runaway success of 2015's Future Hearts. Frontman Alex Gaskarth continues: "It's one of those things - the energy definitely felt amazing. We felt like we were on to something, getting creative.

"There's no way of knowing if it's going to connect. The timing felt right - it seemed like our fans wanted the music, they were ready for it. I feel like we put our heart and soul into the album. The perfect storm."

He goes on: "I think there's an expectation for All Time Low to put out energetic music, music that translates really well live. We're really all about the live shows, so that's one of the things we try to focus on when making a record - capturing that energy and putting it on to an album."

And now you'll get the chance to experience that energy in its ultimate form - as they prepare to head out on some of the biggest shows of their career - taking in a massive date at London's O2 Arena.

"It's our first headlining arena tour that we've done in the whole world, so we're excited to make it in the UK, it's a big deal to us," admits Barakat. But what does it take to fill that size space - other than, as they put it, 'really great hair and good skin'.

"We definitely want to bring a lot into the show," says Gaskarth. "It's all about growth, and so there's a lot of things we can still do, a few tricks. Foo Fighters put out a great show. Muse puts on an amazing show. Trent Reznor, Nine Inch Nails - great one. Taking it back the other way, Nirvana were very simple on stage but awesome."

Barakat adds: "Green Day are a band that we took a lot from and learned a lot from their live show. Billie Joe is one of my favourite performers live - I think everyone kind of looks up to him."

Is this just a stepping stone to them headlining festivals in the future?

"I hope so - fingers crossed," laughs Gaskarth. "We want to keep growing this band as much as we can and play for as many people as we can, so if that's the case, then hell yeah."
