ABBA celebrated their 50th anniversary this weekend by performing together for the first time in 30 years.
The Swedish pop group - who comprised married couples Agnetha Faltskog and Bjorn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Benny Anderson - split back in 1982 after both sets of couples separated. They once reportedly turned down a $1 billion offer to reform.
Earlier this year, they appeared onstage together for the first time in eight years at the opening of a Mamma Mia-themed restaurant, but it seemed that was the closest we’d get to a reunion. We were wrong.
Over the weekend, the four former bandmates reunited at a private gala in Stockholm, and performed a rendition of their 1980 hit ‘Me And I’.
As Expressen reports, at first Lyngstad and Faltskog sang the song in tribute to their male bandmates - but Benny and Bjorn quickly joined in, marking the first time they’ve performed together since 1986.
Sadly, there’s no video evidence whatsoever.
