Germany’s Rock Am Ring festival cancelled its final day yesterday after lightning injured at least 80 attendees.
The likes of Biffy Clyro, Black Sabbath and Bring Me The Horizon were on the bill for the festival, which attracted more than 90,000 fans to the town of Mendig, near Frankfurt.
However, the severe storms affecting Central Europe over the past few weeks found their way to the festival, and 80 people were injured - at least eight of whom were seriously injured - by lightning.
Performances were suspended on Saturday as many of the fans were forced to shelter in cars and tents. The final day was subsequently cancelled altogether.
