"I've had so many eras of albums and songs that there are always new fans, who to them 'that' becomes old school," legendary singer-songwriter Ben Folds tells Gigwise as he sits behind the piano at London's fittingly classy Joe Allen restaurant. Whether solo, with the Ben Folds Five or collaborating with the likes of Nick Hornby or yMusic, his music has mapped so many chapters of so many lives, with one singular and distinct voice.
To celebrate this unique talent and get under the skin of what goes into his music, we asked Mr Folds to join us by the piano to talk and play us through a selection of the most defining tracks from across his career.
Check it out below to find out what went into 'Not The Same', 'Learn To Live With What You Are' and 'Capable Of Anything' from 2015's So There.
