Cherrypicked by This Feeling

Before you hear them on the radio, telly, Hot New Bands; before they’ve got a manager or an agent; before you see them smashing the main stages, it's more than likely they'll have played or received early support from This Feeling.

In February, TF shared their annual big list of Ones to Watch in the world of indie music in 2022. Every week, you can meet a new artist that made it onto that list...

If you had to put your music in two genres, which would you choose?

First genre 'Rock' second genre 'Roll'.

What kind of stuff can you imagine your music being the soundtrack for?

Some Shane Meadows or Guy Ritchie film, Dead Mans Shoes or Snatch, summet like that definitely, got the perfect attitude for it!

Tell us an older artist and a brand new artist that inspires you.

Older artists: The Verve and Kasabian for new artists Wolf Alice and Pastel: reckon Pastel are one of the only bands along side us that are releasing proper fucking music. We try not to get caught up in all that though, we just write tunes that we love and that make sense when we play them all that other stuff. We write our own stuff and inspire ourselves.

What's the best part of playing live?

The free Red Stripe.

Tell us about your latest release.

The tunes we released in 2021 had such a great reception, considering we didn't pay for radio airtime or social media ads: we did it proper old school, pure word of mouth and natural. So all the numbers you see on our socials and streaming are genuine, not a single one has been “paid” for and that's down to our fans man, so big up everyone that listened and shared our shit. Keep up the work.

What have you got coming up?

We’ve recently signed a record deal and been over at the legendary Rockfield studios with producer Nick Brine to record our debut EP, which is on the final stage of being mixed by Gareth Nuttall. It’s sounding insane; it will take a lot for another band to release something on par so we can’t wait to share that

We have Truck and Y Not Festival as well as Rewired in next couple of months and then after that we're hoping to share something huge so keep peeled for that toward end of the year.

What other bands tipped by This Feeling this year do you like or  looking forward to seeing?

The guys over at Spirit of Spike Island records we’re digging at the minute: Vega Rally and Pastel got some great tunes out and that!! We also saw Holy Youth Movement at Isle of Wight which were really fucking cool too so check those out.
