Enter Shikari: 'Change comes from the bottom up'

The band discuss the Government, The Mindsweep, positivity and fans

The best music features the full colour spectrum of life: love, hate, life, death, anger and release. That's exactly what you have in Enter Shikari, and their new album The Mindsweep is as positive as it is political, as aggressive as it is uplifting.

"A lot of the times our views are considered as views specifically on politics," drummer Rob Rolfe tells Gigwise, "whereas we'd rather think of it as being socially conscious, as opposed to talking about it as politics."

Frontman Rou Reynolds adds: "Party politics is not something we're really interested in...The big changes usually come from the bottom up. With the main parties, there's going to a spectrum of how bad they are, with the Tories obviously at the top."

Check out our interview with Enter Shikari as Rou and Rob discuss the 'positivity' of the record, avoiding ego, their connection to their fans, what to expect from their live show on the next tour.
