Paloma Faith has taken to Twitter to express her concerns over the Conservative election win.

The British singer and performer describes being 'very afraid' by the prospect of another five years of Tory government.

"It's a sad day and we may lose our place in the EU as well I am very afraid," the singer tweeted on Friday. She then added: "Be light! Be kind! Humility is the key! And don't be dissuaded-hope still exists we must take to the streets!"

Faith has previously spoken out about her left-wing ideals saying that too many musicians are too "sheepish about saying anything". She has also revealed Prime Minister David Cameron is banned from attending her gigs.

The singer recently brought left-wing Guardian columnist Owen Jones as her support act on her current UK tour, asking him to deliver a speech between her support act and her own set on social injustice, the NHS and the tendency of the right to blame their problems on immigration.
