Mick Jagger and Keith Richards have paid tribute to BB King who passed away last week at the age of 89.
The warm words were paid via a Twitter Q&A which The Rolling Stones took part in yesterday (May 18). Mick Jagger took time to remember the Blues legend: "I was just looking at a picture of me and B.B. backstage at Madison Square Garden [in 1969]...He played with us at a lot of gigs on that tour. We last played with him at a Blues concert in the White House. It's sad. He had such a huge, long career. It's sad that we won't be listening to him live anymore."
Upon being asked his favourite BB King song, he remained indesicive, "He had so many recordings. It's difficult to choose," but went on to say the Live at the Regal collection was a favourite amongst the band.
King was a massive influence on Keith Richards in particular: "He was one of the greats. Great style. B.B. was a great guy. He was one of the true gentlemen, and I shall miss him a lot, we always had a great time with him when our paths crossed" he said. "At least we have his records. Farewell, B.B."
When asked about the secret to their immortality, Richard's joked: "I ain't there yet!" then advised "Go to church on Sundays."
BB King passed away in Las Vegas last week following recent health complications related to high blood pressure and diabetes.
