When the Glasgow leg of Madonna's Rebel Heart tour ran over time, and the power was cut, Madonna decided to perform her encore song, 'Holiday', without it - taking to Instagram to tell the venue, "Don't try to silence the Queen." It subsequently transpired, however, that it was her own production team who cut off the power.
After an incredibly successful two nights at The O2 at the start of this month, the singer's tour has had something of a bumpy ride. After technical problems forced her to start late in Manchester last week, she swore - half joking, half serious - at the crowd, saying, "All you bitches complaining about it can shut the fuck up."
Last night (20 December) her Glasgow show was hit with similar technical problems, and so she arrived late and ran over time. By 11.45pm, the power had been cut, but the singer decided to carry on anyway, and performed 'Holiday' while the house lights were up and very little could be heard.

Though she took to Instagram to proclaim, "We don't stop till its over Glasgow! Don't try to silence the Queen," a spokesperson for the Hydro has since confirmed that it was Madonna's own production team who disconnected the power.
The spokesperson told The Scotsman, "Madonna finished her agreed set and then chose to come on for another song. By that stage, all the power and control equipment had already been disconnected by her own production engineers. I would stress that this was not a venue decision."
