A 25th anniversary Microdot exhibition is set to display artwork, handwritten lyrics and photographs of The Verve, Oasis, Suede and more.

The design company was founded in 1990 by Brian Cannon, after he found himself inspired by the aesthetic of bands such as The Buzzcocks and Sex Pistols. By his late 20s, Cannon had designed the artwork of a number of now-legendary albums - such as the ones below.

The Microdot 25th anniversary exhibition will include artwork for every The Verve and Oasis released in the 1990s, as well as original handwritten lyrics by Noel Gallagher and Richard Ashcroft, signed gold discs, unseen printer proofs and never before published photographs.

There'll also be music packaging and promotional material from Super Furry Animals, Cast, Suede, The Ruthless Rap Assassins and many more, alongside photographs from Cannon's ongoing black & white project Northern Soul - A Photographic Journey.

The Microdot 25th anniversary exhibition takes place in the week beginning 25 May at The Old Courts in Wigan. The entrance fee is £3 - unless you attend on Friday evening, where there'll also be a quiz night and Q&A with Brian Cannon, which will set you back £5. For more information visit Microdot.
