Noel Gallagher has claimed he wrote better lyrics when he was high in a new impromptu interview.
The now solo Noel made the claim in a recent interview which was published on TMZ, where he is questioned about his arrogant quips in the 90s and whether 'Wonderwall' is the best song of all time.
Upon being asked if he wrote better songs when he was high, he agreed to a certain degree: "I wrote better lyrics when I was high." Gallagher famously abused drugs throughout Oasis' peak of success in the mid-1990s and can be linked to the pyschedelic imagery present in certain songs such as 'Champagne Supernova'.
He also claimed to be intoxicated when proclaiming his band as 'bigger than the Beatles and Jesus' going one step further than Lennon's infamous comment in the 1960s.

Noel Gallagher was recently pictured with Francis Bean Cobain daughter of Kurt Cobain who has proclaimed her love for the Britpop band. Gallagher told Rolling Stone of his love for Nirvana who they used to consider competition throughout the 90s: "‘Territorial Pissings’ [on Nevermind] is a fucking great song. And ‘Dumb’ [on In Utero] – I cry every time I hear that song. It's a stripped-down version of Kurt's perception of himself – of himself on drugs, off drugs, feeling inadequate to be titled the voice of a generation.”
Gallagher is currently touring with his High Flying Birds and will play summer headline spots at Latitude Festival, Calling Festival and Summer In The City. For tickets and more information visit here.
