Due to some tragic trademark loophole, the iconic New York venue CBGB - which hosted bands such as The Ramones and Patti Smith - is to be re-opened as an airport restaurant.
The club and venue (its initials stand for country, bluegrass and blues) was previously a biker bar before becoming a famed venue for punk rock and new wave bands. Musicians such as The Ramones, Television, Patti Smith, Blondie and Talking Heads performed there before it closed in 2006. Patti Smith performed on its final night.
Now though, because its trademarks were "assigned to a holding company", it's now set to re-open as a burger restaurant inside Newark Airport in New Jersey. As CoS reports, it'll sell $14 cheeseburgers and $16 spaghetti platters. Rock 'n roll.
Because the restaurant has purchased all the trademarks, it'll be allowed to use not only the name CBGB, but all its associated logos, fonts and aesthetics.

Do you think they'll recreate CBGB's famous toilets?
