Punk duo Slaves were joined today by grime rapper, Skepta, in a surprise appearance at Radio 1's Big Weekend.

He jumped onstage to perform his track ‘Shutdown’ with the band, who covered the song in Radio 1’s Live Lounge earlier this month.

The unannounced appearance caused a huge reaction from fans, including James from Hadouken.

Radio One DJ Nick Grimshaw tweeted that he had seen Snoop Dogg at the festival, taking photos of Slaves.

At the end of February, Skepta played a short set in an East London car park, fulfilling a five-year promise that he made online. After announcing on Twitter that he would be performing in Shoreditch's Hollywell Lane Car Park, hoards of fans joined him for a flash party celebrating the release of his single ‘Shutdown’, where he played a half hour set.

Slaves were forced to cancel shows earlier this month following "an accident involving a kitchen knife".
