Noel Gallagher has spoken of his frustration with being mistaken for his brother Liam on a regular basis.
The former Oasis frontman parted ways with his bandmate and brother back in 2009 after the relationship between the pair broke down irreparably. Since then, he's concentrated on his solo project Noel Gallagher & The High Flying Birds, while Liam's band, Beady Eye, called it quits after just a few years.
It seems their years apart haven't help people's confusion over which brother is which though - as became clear during a recent interview. Gallagher was asked by reporters whether he gets frustrated with American people mispronouncing his name as "Noël."
"Not as sick as I get of people calling me Liam" he replied, as Bang Showbiz reports. "Particularly on the tube. I get the guy down the end of the carriage who is looking above the throng of people and you’re like, 'Ohh no, he’s going to do it'. And he’ll just go 'LIAM! Yes man! Liam!' And it’s just like, 'Fucking hell'."
Noel Gallagher has a spectacular summer ahead of him including summer headline spots at Latitude Festival, Calling Festival and Summer In The City. He's also would rather people stop asking him about the Oasis reunion everyone is expecting.
In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Gallagher was asked about recent Oasis reform rumours "There was a rumour last week that we've had a gentleman's agreement [to reform], but that rumour's come from his people." He went on to label his chaotic brother as 'disingenuous' to Oasis fans: "He always gets their hopes up...It's always up to me in interview to let the kids down."
