Original Oasis guitarist Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs is set to join Liam Gallagher for the 'TFI Friday' anniversary special later this month.
The Oasis man joins his former band mate Liam Gallagher and drummer Zak Starkey, as part of a 'supergroup' consisting of Gallagher, Starkey, The Who's Roger Daltrey, The Lightning Seeds' Ian Broudie, and now, Arthurs. Bonehead will play with his former bandmate Liam for the first time since leaving the band in 1999.
The show, hosted by Chris Evans, is returning a year early due to a "clerical error" to celebrate its 20th anniversary, after not having aired on Channel 4 for over 15 years. Already the show is set to feature a host of guests who will be celebrating the landmark anniversary, including music from Blur, Rudamental and Years & Years, as well as celebrity guests like Tom Daley and Amanda Seyfried.
The show's executive producer Will Macdonald has not ruled out the possibility of commissioning an entire new series of the programme however, and said that "the experience of doing the live show will ultimately determine whether we want to do it again." Original host Chris Evans has not ruled out the possibility either, saying that 'TFI Friday' was "eminently doable, forever." and adding that "TV renaissances do work."
The programme, which originally aired on Channel 4 in the '90s was brought to an end in 2000, after it lost its appeal due to the departure of Evans after its fifth series. The anniversary show is set to air on June 12 on Channel 4.
