Guns N' Roses' Axl Rose was once late to one of his own shows because he was too busy watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret Of The Ooze, according to a US radio DJ.
As Consequence Of Sound reports, the singer has something of a reputation for turning up late to his own gigs - he's sometimes kept fans waiting for up to three hours, in fact.
In an email interview with Spin a few years back, Rose admitted, "I'm not a 'punctual' type of person, never have been," adding, "I apologize to anyone I’ve inconvenienced or put out in any way … The reasons have all been in one way or another show-related or having to do with those involved with the show in some fashion."
We're not sure, though, that the reason he was late for a show in Tampa Bay back in 1991 was in any way "involved with the show."
According to a Tampa Bay radio DJ who worked as an assistant to the owner of the venue, "Axl’s management said he was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze, and that Axl’s attention was 100% on the movie and couldn’t be bothered."
Meanwhile, last month it was revealed that guitarist DJ Ashba had split with Guns N' Roses after six years with the band, in order to focus on other projects.
