A new BBC documentary on Motorhead's Lemmy will be available online from this evening (22 January).
The frontman died last month, just a few days after finding out he had an aggressive form of cancer. His death prompted an outpouring of tributes from his fans and peers, and his memorial was streamed online.
Lemmy: In His Own Words, a documentary on the late musician, is set to be uploaded onto iPlayer at 9pm today. As NME reports, the film comprises archive footage from BBC interviews and live performances.
Speaking of the documentary, the BBC's music editor, James Stirling, said, "Lemmy was a colossal figure in British music and he had a unique approach to both his songs and the industry he found himself in."
He added, "There was a smart sense of humour at the heart of everything, something clearly demonstrated through his interviews and performances we've uncovered from the BBC Music archive."
Lemmy: In His Own Words will be available here from 9pm.
