Dave Grohl has accused the Emmy organisers of booking Foo Fighters to play the award ceremony, and then cancelling last minute.

Grohl was due to attend the 2015 Primetime Emmy Awards to compete for two prizes for the group's documentary series Sonic Highways. The Foos frontman was tipped for success having already picked up two Creative Arts Emmys earlier in the week.

Despite this fact, Grohl was a no-show at the award ceremony last night (20 September) and has since explained why he did not attend the show.

Foo Fighters were scheduled to play the event but were kicked off the bill, Grohl reports. Speaking to TMZ, he said: "You know what, we were supposed to play on the Emmys, and we were gonna play on the Emmys and then they kicked us off... I can't tell you (why), do your research but they did... We won two Emmys last (time) so we've got two of them."

The run-in depicts Grohl as unphased by the cancellation, probably because he'd already won two awards and that Foo Fighters are too cool for mainstream award shows, man.

Grohl has been better spending his time taking shots at 'bands that play those little two-hour concerts' and downing beers with fans celebrating their birthdays.
