Adele has definitively quashed rumours of a Glastonbury headline slot ahead of the release of her new album.
The multi, multi, multi-million selling star returned this morning with huge new single 'Hello' from her upcoming album 25. Prepare for her to dominate the year ahead. It's no wonder that she's long been a rumour for Glastonbury.
Speaking to London’s Capital Breakfast Show, the British star made it clear, in no uncertain terms, that the world renowned festival was not for her.
Watching Kanye West’s headline slot earlier in the year she said, in her usual unceremonious fashion, “I crapped my pants at the size of the crowd.”
She reiterated her stance, saying, “I think I’ve made myself pretty clear on Glastonbury, the crowds are just too big - I don’t know if I could do it.”
It may come as a surprise that Adele is intimidated by the festival, as an artist that’s responsible for the UK’s fourth best-selling album of all time.
The follow up to 21, the imaginatively titled 25, is due on November 20. It’s been four years since the last album, and to say there is an element of anticipation would be a massive understatement.

Adele has played down rumours that both Justin Bieber and One Direction changed the release dates of their albums in order not to clash with her record.
Regardless, there’s no doubt it will be one of the biggest releases of the year.
The first taster was released today. The sultry single comes with a moody black and white video, and is sure to be the first of many hits from the forthcoming album.
