Following yesterday's news of Tool's galvanising return to the stage, footage of a new track has surfaced online. Watch fan footage of 'Descending' below.

Despite Maynard James Keenan's blatant disinterest in fans, Tool have given them everything they wanted debuting a brand new instrumental track at their headline slot at Tempe's Monster Mash festival.

The band kick off their set with their infamous cover of Led Zeppelin's 'No Quarter' as well as ten other tracks spanning their discography and one brand new track from their highly anticipated fifth album titled 'Descending'.

The instrumental nature of the track might be indicative of the fact that Keenan doesn't tend to write his lyrics until the end of the recording process so the correlation between this live track and Tool's new album forthcoming release might not be airtight.

Listen to Tool perform their new track 'Descending' below

At the Monster Mash Music Festival in Tempe, Tool played:

No Quarter (Led Zeppelin cover)
The Grudge
Parabol
Parabola
Opiate
Schism
Ænema
Descending
Jambi
Forty-Six & 2
Vicarious
Stinkfist
