A Belgian expat has bought the domains for all possible variations of voteleave.com ahead of the EU referendum, and redirected them to a video of Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.
The referendum, on whether or not the United Kingdom will leave the European Union, is set to take place on 23 June - a vote promised by the Conservatives ahead of the 2015 election.
Now, as the Vote Leave camp attempts to step up a gear in the final remaining months, Mario Van Poppel has decided to mess with them. He’s bought web addresses such as voteleave.com, voteleave.co.uk, voteleave.net and voteleave.org, and redirected them to Rick Astley’s ‘Never Gonna Give You Up’.
Now, you have to visit the less memorable voteleavetakecontrol.org to get your dose of anti-EU rhetoric. A very successful Rickrolling.
Never gonna give EU up - now that #VoteLeave is the designated #Brexit campaign what URL will they choose

Meanwhile, the EU referendum is set to clash with Glastonbury Festival - and so event organisers, including Emily Eavis, have urged festival-goers to register for postal voting.
