Cage The Elephant have returned with a new song, a new album and a new best friend - The Black Keys' Dan Auerbach. The band have shared an in-studio video of them working with Auerbach on their new album, Tell Me I'm Pretty which is due 18 December 2015. Check it out below, exclusively on Gigwise.
The band release their new single, 'Mess Around', a few weeks ago. The off-kilter guitar led track has all the tropes the art-rock band have been developing since their debut album back in 2007 with Matt Schultz voice sounding more assured than it's ever sounded. Tell Me I'm Pretty will be the first release from the band since 2013's Melophobia.
Dan Auerbach jumped on board taking a break from The Arcs and The Black Keys to operate the controls as producer for Cage The Elephant. From what we've heard so far, Auerbach has been contributing his knack for concise and hermetic songwriting to Cage's fourth studio album.
We have an exclusive video of the band working on Tell Me I'm Pretty in the studio with Dan Auerbach. You can see scenes the whole gang enjoying an acoustic guitar writing session with Auerbach in a dimly lit studio space. There's an atmosphere of relaxed fun and flourishing creativity which is always a promising indicator for a new album in progress. But we're sure it's no easy task, as the band say themselves: there ain't no rest for the wicked.

Speaking about the upcoming new album, the 'Cigarette Daydream' vocalist, Matt Schultz said: "With this record, we wanted to be more transparent. We wanted to capture the sentiment of each song, and whatever emotional response it provoked, to be really honest to that."
Tell Me I'm Pretty is out on 18 December 2015 on Columbia Records. No news yet on a UK tour but we can keep our fingers crossed for next year. To learn more about Cage The Elephant, check out the band's social channels below.
