Following their recent announcement that they'll be headlining next year's Isle of Wight Festival, Queen's Roger Taylor and Brian May have signed limited edition versions of two of the band's albums, in order to raise funds for the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
The Trust, created in 1991 after the death of the band's iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury by the remaining members of Queen and their manager Jim Beach, is now giving fans and fellow buyers the chance to grab signed copies of Queen’s Sheer Heart Attack (1974) and The Works (1984) on eBay.
Listed as for sale by mercuryphoenixtrust, the items are described by the charity as “handled by both Brian & Roger in order for them to sign... [They are] in wonderful condition.”
The Trust also states on their sellers page that the albums are sold "as part of the Queen Studio Collection box set - these are prints were made run so colour checks could be made, to make the Box Set perfect! We asked Brian & Roger if they would be happy to sign some of them in order for us to make them available to fans, whilst raising money for Freddie's charity 'The Mercury Phoenix Trust - Fights AIDS Worldwide'."
100 per cent of the proceedings will go towards the charity, one that has raised awareness of AIDS for over 20 years and funded over 700 projects. Find further information and details on the Trust and the signed albums here.
