The internet seems to throw up a few bonafide gems every single day, and after hearing a black metal parody version of 'All I Want for Christmas is You' by Woods of Trees earlier today, we were desperate for some more. And now the internet has duly delivered the goods with a minor key version of Mariah Carey's festive favourite.
The video was thrown up on YouTube by Kurt Hugo Schneider, who makes an awful lot cover versions and mashups. One of his latest videos, recorded with his good friend Chase Holfelder, is this superb but deeply disconcerting cover version of Mariah Carey’s 'All I Want for Christmas Is You', which follows the original except that it is recorded in a minor key.
Of course, the original tune was recorded in a major key, making it a perfectly upbeat song about love during the holiday season. However, Kurt Hugo Schneider's version flips everything on its head, making the song take a rather sinister, creepy and stalker-esque turn.
