Justin Bieber has many fans - that much is evident from the record-breaking sales of his new songs, his Instagram popularity, and the fact that tickets for his 2016 Purpose tour proved overwhelmingly popular - but in the Venn diagram of Justin Bieber fans and Metallica fans, the two circles are barely touching.
So it was not met with the warmest of responses when JB decided to appear on both Graham Norton and The Ellen Show wearing a Metallica t-shirt. In fact, metal fans took to Twitter in their droves to have a hissy fit.
There's one person, as it turns out, who didn't mind Bieber's choice of outfit. That person is Metallica's very own James Hetfield. As Loudwire reports, Hetfield published a list entitled, "TOP 10 THINGZ OF 2015" to the band's Met Club fan club.
Alongside "still alive!!!", "meeting Robert Plant" and "shooting 308 sniper rifle out of open door moving helicopter" - an experience we've all had at some point in our lives - Hetfield also cited, "Justin Bieber wearing a Metallica shirt!" as one of his year highlights.
So maybe overly-precious Metallica fans can calm themselves a little now.
