Festival Number 6 is enduring a very wet second day in the Welsh mountains but to brighten the mood, Blossoms have just announced that they'll be playing a set with the Joe Duddell Orchestra.
Last year saw Blossoms play Tim Peaks Diner at this festival which is held in Portmeirion village, and whilst it was packed they were still very much under the radar with only a few songs out. This year though, the buzz surrounding them is fever pitch as they've become on of the country's biggest bands and even fended off Drake and ELO to claim the number one album spot two weeks running.
Ill-content to only play a 6.15 slot on the main stage today before Roisin Murphy and Hot Chip play, this hard working, hit-churning band with, who James Skelly from The Coral has played a vital role in producing, will head straight over to one of the most beautiful buildings in the Portmeirion village for a set that is certain to have people lining up outside long before they start.

Temples and East India Youth are among other young acts that have partnered with Joe Duddell at Festival Number 6 in this building before and the atmosphere is always incredible.
The Joe Duddell has also arranged the core for Manchester Camerata chamber orchestra, and special guest vocalists Charlotte Church, Jacqui Abbott (The Beautiful South), Lucy Rose, Jane Weave, and Nadine Shah and the No.6 Bowie band to play iconic songs from across Bowie's career. It looks certain to be an emotional highlight of the festival which is enjoying its fifth year.
