After almost five decades purveyors of one of the heaviest rock sounds ever Black Sabbath have announced that they once and for all have decided that their long and unpredictable tale of heavy rock, killer riffs, debauchery and much more has finally come to an end.
Who would have thought what started out as a rough and ready young band of late teenagers in Birmingham, would become a force to be reckoned with in the world of rock. The band have been the inspiration for so many bands in the last half a century and will continue to do so for so much longer.
They were surely the band who kick-started what we all now know as heavy metal and with their well-received album '13' they proved that age had not diminished their skills and enthusiasm for the genre.
But like all good things even Black Sabbath must come to an end and so this final tour is very subtly called just that 'The End'.
Whilst UK fans will get seven opportunities to witness the band one last time across the country including what will surely two amazing shows in their hometown of Birmingham. Irish fans will be scrambling to grab a highly sough-after ticket for the one Dublin gig lined up at the 3 Arena.
Of course many of us will have caught up with Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler at one of their 2016 shows or festival appearances. However wouldn't we all love to say that we were their when they said goodbye to us one last time?
This Irishman will be there. I hope you will too.
THE END of one of most legendary bands in Rock ’n Roll history...
