After Coldplay’s triumphant (if a little… overshadowed) performance at this year’s event, it looks like there’ll another British act playing next year’s Super Bowl halftime show - Adele.
Coldplay headlined the show - which is watched by more than 100 million people - back in February, though it was Beyonce’s guest appearance that really made headlines. Now Adele’s conquered her nerves (or at least learned to cope with them) with a hugely popular Glastonbury headline set, she’s rumoured to be braced for another iconic slot next year.
According to The Sun, a source from the National Football League said, “There is nobody bigger in the world than Adele right now and organizers are doing absolutely everything they can to try to persuade her to sign up. She’s sold out every date on her tour, everyone wants a piece of her and they know they can bank on her bringing in the viewers.”
They added, “It’s Adele’s nerves that are the issue - it hasn’t been an easy sell.” Come on Adele, you can do it.
Previous performers at the Super Bowl halftime show include the likes of Madonna, Beyonce, Paul McCartney, The Rolling Stones and Katy Perry.
