Hip Hop/Soul band reveal trailer to four part short film which will be premiering on Gigwise

New Brighton band Normanton Street reveal first documentary Photo:

Brighton band Normanton Street premiere the trailer to their first ever documentary on Gigwise today ahead of its full release. The full documentary will be exclusively available on Gigwise with the first part broadcasting tomorrow (27 December) and three subsequent parts will be shown every Sunday up until 17 January.

We are thrilled to be the first to show the short film about the hip hop/soul band as they are one of the most exciting new bands around and one of the most hard working. Their success has been built from the bottom up independently. Over the past four years through relentless gigging and running nights, there's a sensational buzz about them in Brighton now.

They've also began to make an impact throughout Europe as their seamless ability to flow between Ghostpoet and The Streets-esque spoken word and hip hop into soulful sounds evocative of Alice Russell is lapped up.

Meanwhile, the band have been grafting away at their home studio constantly and self-producing some great tracks. But with Fortress management (who also manage The Orwells) on their side, they secured some big studio time and recorded their best single to date, ‘Take Time’, which puts them up there as ones to watch in 2016.

Watch the trailer to the Normanton Street Documentary below:

This documentary is the first ever filmed feature on Normanton Street and tells the story of the band through insightful interviews from the charismatic, and talented four-piece in informal locations. We see their studio life, gigs, their work place, and their tour.

It gives a rare, honest insight into the life of an unsigned band on the rise. The film does justice in dispelling any glamourous fiction about what life is like for bands in 2015 and reflects the hard work, passion and dedication that goes into succeeding in the industry’s current climate.

Normanton Street was founded by singer/songwriters, rappers and guitar players Ned Archibong, Nicholson Davids who moved to Brighton from Bradford four years ago with the aim of starting a band. They are now a four piece with Phoebe Freya on vocals and Nicholas Standing on drums.
