Madonna has taken to social media to hit back at recent media speculations over herparenting abilities, saying, "It's possible to be an entertainer and a good mother."
The singer has been the subject of a host of lurid headlines recently, amidst reports of a custody battle with her former husband Guy Ritchie over their son Rocco. The New York Post ran the story with the headline, "Madonna is the world's worst celebrity parent," while Lightly Buzzed opted for, "Madonna is a terrible mom and her kids hate her."
The singer, who has four children - two of whom she adopted from Malawi - took to Instagram to address the reports. "It's possible to be an entertainer and a good mother," she wrote. "Too bad we don't live in a society where many encourage strong independent single working moms! The next great Frontier!"
Madonna reportedly went to court over Christmas in an attempt to return 15-year-old Rocco to New York for the holidays, after he decided he'd rather stay in London with his father.
