Police have confirmed that a man has died after a fire broke out on site at Glastonbury yesterday (Monday 20 June, 2016).

The man, currently unnamed but believed to be in his mid-20s, is reported to have been working in the Green Field area in preparation of the festival, when a petrol spill is allegedly said to have caused the blaze - but this is yet to be confirmed.

"We were called by the fire service after reports of a man on fire at the Glastonbury Festival site at about 5.20pm last night," says a Police spokesman from Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

"The man suffered serious burns and was taken by air ambulance to Southmead Hospital in Bristol. He was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where he sadly later died."

They added: "The man's family have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time. Our enquiries are continuing but we are treating the death as unexplained and do not believe it to be suspicious."

The weather forecast is out, and video footage shows that the Glastonbury site has already flooded.

Headlined by Muse, Coldplay and Adele alongside the likes of New Order, The 1975, Chvrches, PJ Harvey, Bring Me The Horizon, LCD Soundsystem, Beck, Sigur Ros and many more. Check out the set and stage times here.

Glastonbury takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from 22-26 June 2016.
