Kanye West performed on Saturday Night Live last weekend, and - if this leaked audio footage is anything to go by - his time on set wasn't the happiest.
In an audio recording that sounds like it was capture on someone's phone, which was obtained by Page Six, West can be heard complaining after SNL staff members tore up his stage because the reflective flooring was causing issues with the cameras.
"Look at that shit, they took my fucking stage off of SNL without asking me," he said. "Now I'm bummed. That and Taylor Swift, fake ass. Now I ain't gonna do this, we're breaking the mother fucking internet."
He continued, "I went through six years of this fucking shit. Let's get to it, bro... Let's get to it, bro. Are they fucking crazy? Bro! By 50%. Stanley Kubrick, Paul the Apostle, and both Pablo Picasso and Pablo Escobar. By 50% more influential than another human being. Don't fuck with me. Don't FUCK with me. Don't FUCK with me. By 50% for the next thousand years."
Now, a representative for West has told Rolling Stone that the recording was edited and taken out of context. "This audio was secretly recorded while he was venting his frustration in a private moment with his team," said the spokesperson. "He found out his stage design was changed and taken apart under the direction of the show’s lighting director without anyone’s approval."
West has made headlines for his increasingly erratic behaviour over the past few weeks, mostly revolving around the release (or lack thereof) of his new album, The Life Of Pablo.
