Danny Goffey's solo band, Vangoffey, have released new single 'Sucker' ahead of their forthcoming album launch shows.
The former Supergrass star has had an outstanding career as a musician, and was part of the incredibly rapid rise of Supergrass in the '90s at the heyday of Britpop. Later on in his career, he toured with Babyshambles.
Currently, he's dedicated to Vangoffey who are a supergroup of sorts. Drew McConnell from Babyshambles, Louis Eliot from Rialto, and Marley Mackey - the son of Florence & the Machine producer and Pulp bassist Steve Mackey - are in the band.
It's no wonder then that 'Sucker', which is taken from his critically acclaimed album, Take Your Jacket Off & Get Into It, has such a brilliant sound - with nods to The Jam, The Kinks, and a touch of New Order.
Their high octane sound will be perfect for London's Social on 14 March, and Frome's Wheatsheaves - where they'll play on 15 March - is a pub venue, so you'll have the rare opportunity of seeing the Supergrass star play in the sort of place he would have kicked off his career in.
