Though David Bowie may have sadly passed away, his music still lives on through many mediums. The latest addition to his consistently growing catalogue of posthumous art, is the video for his latest single, ‘I Can’t Give Everything Away’.

Jonathon Barnbrook, who designed the simple yet wonderful artwork for Bowie’s incredible final album, Blackstar, produced the video. In the video you can see that Barnbrook took a similar approach to making the video, with the use of black and white until the last chorus when the video explodes into colour.

Branbrook described how he made the video as not only a way of celebrating Bowie’s music, but also celebrating Bowie’s life:

“This is really a very simple little video that I wanted to be ultimately positive. We start off in black and white world of ★, but in the final chorus we move to brilliant color, I saw it as a celebration of David, to say that despite the adversity we face, the difficult things that happen such as David’s passing, that human beings are naturally positive, they look forward and can take the good from the past and use it as something to help with the present. We are a naturally optimistic species and we celebrate the good that we are given.”

The video comes just after two tribute shows had been played in honour of the late icon. Debbie Harry, Michael Stipe and Cyndi Lauper all took to the stage of Carnegie Hall on 31 March and 1 April, to celebrate the life of David Bowie.
