The Stone Roses are back with another huge new song 'Beautiful Thing', and again it seems to have split opinion among fans.
After playing an intimate launch show with a hit-packed setlist ahead of their massive Etihad Stadium shows in Halifax earlier this week, the Manchester comeback heroes confirmed that they'd be dropping the new track at midnight last night.
'Beautiful Thing', another taster for their long-awaited third album along with 'All For One', is a sprawling seven-minute epic with a loose, easy and baggy flow - running very much an early 90s spirit. Rhythm aside, it's full on Roses; loaded with self-referential lyrics playing on Ian Brown's messiah obsession and some scorching John Squire guitar work. But is this them back on form, or lazily rehashing the past?
Well, fans can't decide...
Not everyone's a fan...
Stone Roses please stop. 2 songs and both uber turbo dog shit. Lets hope the 3rd is 21 years from now
