A popstar has died on stage during a live performance due to being bitten by a snake.

Indonesian artist, Irma Bule, who is famous for having reptiles live on stage with her, was bitten by a Cobra after standing on its tail. Bule was under the impression that the snake has been defanged prior to the show.

After being bitten by the snake Bule was offered an antidote but refused to take it. The singer then continued performing for 45 minutes up until she started to vomit and have seizures in front of a shocked audience.

Bule was performing in the village of Karawang, West Java when the incident happened. One audience member called Ferlando Octavion Auzura, told local media: “In the middle of the second song, Irma stepped on the snake's tail. The snake then bit Irma in her thigh." The Evening Standard has reported.

King Kobras are considered to be one of the largest venomous snakes and can reach up to 18ft. They do, however, often avoid human contact when in the wild.
