More about: Gorillaz
Damon Albarn has finally given fans an update on Gorillaz’ forthcoming album - apparently, it’ll be “ready fairly soon.”
The acclaimed animated music project, helmed by the Blur frontman, are currently preparing to release a long-anticipated new album. Earlier this year, artist Jamie Hewlett shared new artwork, as well as video footage of Albarn hard at work in the studio.
Now, after a few months of silence, Albarn has spoken of the new record in an interview with BBC 6 Music. “Later in the year we’ll be starting to get the whole Gorillaz thing together,” he said. “I’m loving it and it’s getting there. It should be ready fairly soon.”
With a bit of luck, the follow-up to 2011’s The Fall will be with us in a matter of months.
