Pete Doherty is amongst the acts set to play one of the first shows at the Bataclan when it reopens this November.
The Paris venue will reopen roughly one year after 90 people were killed there during an Eagles Of Death Metal gig. Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, which was carried out by several gunmen.
Shortly after the attacks, the venue vowed that it would reopen its doors, promising, “We will not surrender.” It later had to face accusations from Eagles Of Death Metal’s Jesse Hughes, who suggested that some of the venue’s security guards may have been in on the attacks.
Today, in a statement on the venue’s Facebook, it finally confirmed plans to reopen, revealing a handful of the acts set to perform in November and December. Pete Doherty is the first act set to play, shortly followed by Youssou N’dour, Nada Surf and Mz.
The statement said that the exact date for reopening had not been confirmed.
