James Blake surprise-released his new album, The Colour In Anything, last night. Listen to it below.

Blake appeared on Annie Mac’s BBC Radio 1 show last night, revealing that the new album would drop in a matter of hours. The follow-up to Overgrown, which has been three years in the making, includes collaborations with Bon Iver and the elusive Frank Ocean.

The artwork for the record - which was teased via street murals in London and Brooklyn last night - was designed by Roald Dahl artist Quentin Blake.

Last month, he revealed one of the album’s tracks, ‘Timeless’, and he also unveiled ‘Modern Soul’ during his BBC Radio 1 residency in February. Since then, he’s appeared on Beyonce’s Lemonade album.

Speaking to The Guardian, Blake called his new album a “coming-of-age” record. “If music stays the same thematically, people lose interest,” he explained. “If I was still talking about not getting laid when I was 18 then…”

It’s now available to buy on iTunes and to stream via Spotify.
