The Kings of Leon return with new single 'Waste a Moment', and it's pretty damn good if you ask us. Feeling like early KOL, the sultry rock number was released today and comes ahead of the band's new album, Walls, which is slated to arrive October 14th.
Uptempo, jumpy and complete with some erratic guitar playing, it feels like the band have found their rhythm again after almost falling apart amid infighting and tensions after their last album, 2013's Mechanical Bull. Focusing on a woman with a fiery demeanour, Caleb Followill sings:
"All the way from Waco to we hold the rabbit on a chain/ Drove her little slick car to ten bar with the state on her brain/ She's a little burner, gonna throw you to the flame/ Yeah, a ticking time bomb, time bomb, gonna blow us all away."
The band's seventh album was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Markus Dravs, best known for his work with Coldplay and Mumford & Sons, Dravs is said to have helped push them out of their comfort zone, questioning their routine and musical tendencies, asking them to endlessly play certain parts and write new verses as and when it was required.
